• Volatility: Candidates that are in the lower 1/3 to ½ of volatility range for the last six months
• Price: Look for too much speed or movement in the underlying
• Market range bound? Can utilize shorter duration calendars
• Market moving with greater speed? Utilize longer duration calendars if trading them at all
